Founder & Attorney | Dancer Law PLLC
Deshawnté Dancer is a Washington licensed attorney with more than a decade of experience helping individuals and families navigate complex legal matters, including divorce, separation, parenting plans, child support, and domestic violence.
Her decision to pursue family law was deeply rooted in a desire to expand access to legal representation within the Black community.
Recognizing that family conflict, divorce, domestic violence, and other deeply personal matters are often addressed privately, or endured in silence. Deshawnté wanted to help create a space where individuals and families could seek legal guidance without judgment, stigma, or fear of being misunderstood.
She also recognized a significant barrier; the cost of legal representation. For many individuals and families, retaining an attorney for an entire case is financially out of reach, even when legal assistance could make a meaningful difference.
These realities helped shape her vision for Dancer Law PLLC: a family law practice that prioritizes access, representation, and meaningful legal support for the Black community while welcoming individuals and families from all backgrounds.
Throughout her career, Deshawnté has worked extensively with survivors of domestic violence and individuals from immigrant and refugee communities. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to client-centered advocacy and reinforced the importance of ensuring that legal services are not only available, but approachable and responsive to the people who need them.
Through Dancer Law, she offers comprehensive representation and limited scope legal services, allowing clients to seek assistance with an entire case or specific legal needs, depending on their circumstances.
Her approach emphasizes practical legal strategy, clear communication, informed decision-making, and respect for the individual circumstances of every client.
